Colin Phelps

Colin Phelps has been an associate attorney at Christensen & Prezeau, PLLP, since 2017. Colin spent the first five years of his life in the West African nations of Cameroon and Mali. He graduated from Hawthorne and Boston College prior to working for an organic dryland dirt farmer in Washington, D.C. Colin earned his J.D. with honors from the University of Montana School of Law in 2015, where he served as the symposium editor of the Montana Law Review. Following graduation, he clerked for two years for the Honorable Justice Beth Baker with the Montana Supreme Court.

Colin has successfully represented clients before administrative agencies, licensing boards, and in state and federal courts in the areas of construction law, real property and land use, labor and employment law and civil defense. Colin’s practice focuses primarily on construction law, and he represents clients involved in all aspects of the construction field, including developers, engineers and architects, general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers. Colin is a member of the Montana State Bar Construction Law Section and has spoken at several construction law conferences. Colin assists his construction clients with a wide range of issues including litigation, lien and payment issues, contract review and drafting, and employment issues.

When he is not in the office, Colin enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, coaching soccer, skiing, fly fishing, hunting, backpacking, and everything else Montana has to offer.
